Musical Adaptation of Soul Music

The Youth Music Theatre presents

Terry Pratchett’s Soul Music

To be performed at the Rose Theatre Kingston

Showing between 28th and 31st August

A new, dangerously addictive music has entered Discworld! Performer Imp Y Celyn (translated as ‘bud of the holly’) finds himself the unwitting poster boy for this intoxicating trend. We follow Imp and his eclectic ensemble of wannabe rock stars through their chaotic musical career, as they attempt to harness the hypnotic new movement, the ‘Music with Rocks In’.

Directed by Luke Sheppard, (Associate Director RSC’s Matilda), adapted by stand-up comedian Andrew Doyle with original music from WhatsOnStage Award-nominee Craig Adams (LIFT, Thérèse Raquin), and choreographed by Off West End Award-winner Cressida Carré (Titanic). Soul Music continues our association with Sir Terry Pratchett, and follows the success of our previous collaboration Mort The Musical.

Comments for: Musical Adaptation of Soul Music

  1. Ben says:

Unfortunately, this production didn’t honour the novel right from the start, and felt like an amateurish school production. All of Terry’s wonderful humour was lost in translation along with the spirit of Music With Rocks In. We left about 20 minutes into the show.
