Terry might well now be firmly the companionship of his favourite character, Death, but he lives on in his work, his words, his humour and his observations of humanity.

We are honoured to be able to perform his story, even if by encumbrance of mortal mind the words might not flow as easily as we might wish.

Wyrd-Sisters---Banner-Plain

“Lawks! There be Witches Abroad! Well, not actually abroad, they don’t like the food and the shamans take all the deck chairs”
Terry Pratchett’s classic satirical re-telling of Hamlet with a dash of Macbeth is coming to Riverside Players this Spring. This is to be a slick new take on this often performed tale with the emphasis very much on comedy, incorporating projection backdrops, special effects and live music. I need you to come and make me laugh on Sunday 8th February at 2pm! Don’t worry, it isn’t hard to do. Audition pieces are below and there is many a colourful character to choose from. If you are interested in joining but cannot commit much time, I am keen to have some people in character for front of house and possibly popping up in the show. Or you might just want to audition for one of the smaller roles.
If you are not familiar with Terry Pratchett, have a read of the novel; you won’t regret it. I’m open to all ideas so bring them all with you to your audition.
Show dates are 8th, 9th, 15th & 16th of May with a matinee each Saturday, with a total of 6 performances.
If you have any problems with audition dates or any other queries, contact Rob via robtizzard@hotmail.co.uk.

Amateur Production of Johnny and the Dead

This event has finished

Johnny and the Dead

Presented By The Chesil Youth Theatre
By Terry Pratchett
Adapted by Stephen Briggs
Directed by Richard Curtis
Thurs 12th and Fri 13th February, 7.30pm.

Sell the cemetery? Over their dead bodies…

Not many people can see the dead (not many would want to). Twelve-year-old Johnny Maxwell can. And he’s got bad news for them: the council want to sell the cemetery as a building site. But the dead aren’t going to take it lying down…especially since it’s Halloween tomorrow.  Besides, they’re beginning to find that life is a lot more fun than it was when they were… well, alive.  Particularly if they break a few rules.

Join us, a bunch of ghosts and some intrepid school children as they fight to save the cemetery.  Tickets are £10 for adults and £8 for those of you lucky enough to be under 18.

Monstrous Productions Present Wyrd Sisters, Cardiff

This event has finished

Screen Shot 2014-09-16 at 17.28.02
After the death of the King, of entirely “natural causes”, the Kingdom of Lancre has fallen into the clutches of the rather unhinged Lord Felmet and it really isn’t happy about it.

Something needs to be done, but interference from the witches is against the rules. Mind you, the number one rule for witches is ‘when you break the rules, break them good and hard!’

A play about a play. And about players. And three witches and ghosts and Destiny and a Fool with a jingly hat on.

This production follows the hugely successful Mort in early 2014. Monstrous Productions Theatre Company is going from strength to strength, raising over £5,000 for Alzhiemer’s Research UK so far. With all profit from this, their third production, also going to this great cause, come along and enjoy a great quality show whilst helping charity at the same time!

Wyrd Sisters is on at the Gate Arts Centre, Keppoch St, Cardiff from November 5th to November 8th, 2014.

Tickets are £8 or £6 concessions and available at http://7889269b08cd.fikket.com/ or email monstrousproductions2012@gmail.com
